    Solar-powered twelve-legged bug will fascinate eco-entomologist

Creepy-crawlies never fail to make me shudder under my skin. And this techie, man-made version succeeded in doing the same. Gosh, why do we need to make one? To top it, power it with solar energy to move? This twelve-legged insect-like structure is powered by four solar panels. Originating from Theo Jansen’s autonomous Strandbeest driven by the wind, I fail to understand the need to construct such an eco-friendly techie-bug!

Big Rig Jig truck sculpture to show world politics, society and environment

    Big_truck_sculpture.jpg
When you have a huge brain with a hell lot of creativity then your ideas can create wonderfully cool and big things. The Big Rig Jig is a giant truck sculpture designed by Mike Ross from two repurposed 18-wheeler tanker trucks. It uses two decommissioned trucks that refers to the global oil industry ‘at the nexus of our world’s political, social, and environmental systems’. Such a thick thought. This guy has a lot of free time and a lot of philosophy in his head. Wonder how much air he must have polluted by creating this. That is irony.

Biodegrable Ecopen imprints paper without leaving any footprint on environment

    Biodegrable_Ecopen.jpg
I don’t need a pen to pen down green stuff. But if you need a pen that not only helps to put your thoughts down on paper but also help your planet then grab the Ecopen. Priced at mere $2, this earth-friendly pen won’t burn a hole in your pocket too. Designed by Adrian Olabuenaga for Acme Studio, this green pen is shaped out of 100% biodegradable corn starch plastic. This means that when you decide to chuck this pen, it will not add on to the landfill heaps. Instead, if disposed in correct manner, it will break down in a years’ time only. However the refill isn’t green. Now this is not good news as eco-conscious folks will not toss the pen out till it breaks but the empty refill needs to be swapped for a full-ink one. Can we have the makers focus on supplying biodegradable refills too? Eco pens are slated to hit the stores and your books in the month of July.

Here is where you will notice that it is indeed smaller than other PET bottles hence allowing you to do your part for the environment. So you will be quenching your thirst and satisfaction. Two-in-one. A winner.
