Panasonic unveils RISAIKURA MS-N53 to recycle garbage

    Panasonic_Garbage_Recycler.jpg
Panasonic will launch a high-priced garbage-processing machine which makes use of a special platinum-palladium catalyst. The Panasonic RISAIKURA MS-N53 recycler can hold up to 2kg of organic garbage, such as food scraps, which it then mixes up and breaks down into compost with the assistance of heat and the platinum- palladium catalyst. The end result is compost that can be used on your garden, with Panasonic claiming it is better than store-bought fertilizer. Panasonic RISAIKURA MS-N53 recycler has a number of different settings relating to what extent the garbage is dried out – between three and six hours. Users can select the shorter option if they intend to create compost with more protein to help the fertilisation of plants and vegetables, while the longer option suits long-term fertilization of trees.

Mon Pot to let you know when your plant needs water

    Mon_Pot.jpg
After babies, children, husband and the pets screaming or whining for food, now even the plants in your house will ask out for food. In a slightly different way – the Mon Pot way. This is a pot for flowers or plants that will let you know when you need to water it. The pot made out of bioplastics (plastics derived from renewable biomass) is mounted on a base that can be rotated to any of three indicators – for a day, a week or two weeks. When it needs water, it rotates to regain its original position and this way you will know that its time to feed it again. Also the marks of time indicator are made of small solar cell, enough to power an LED.

    CISTA rainwater harvesting system launched

    cista-ed02.jpg
Architect MOSS SUND and industrial designers figlforty have introduced the CISTA Rainwater Harvesting System which is designed for urban environments. This includes an eight-foot stainless steel column that stores rain water within a vertical planted frame, allowing conserving water and increasing green space. It can collect 100 gallons of water at a time creating enough water pressure to operate a soaker hose housed in a storage compartment at the base of the unit. At the base, a climber is planted which grows up through out the frame. An LED indicator tells when the water level is high enough which helps the system expand a bit more horizontally or vertically.

Sony Ericsson N1 – A 100 per cent green phone concept

    sony_ericsson_n1.jpg
Hydro from the Sony Ericsson forum Esato Board has introduced a 100 per cent green phone concept. No details have been given on this but that it is going to be the kind of phone that environmentalists and green globe lovers are going to admire and most definitely possess. The new Sony Ericsson N1 with the N standing for nature (was the too obvious?). What could possibly make this a 100 per cent green phone? Solar chargers, green microchips, recyclable phone cover, solar charged lights replacing LEDs? These are guesses from the novice’s brain as it is interesting.

MIR – A solar powered Radio Alarm Clock for a green good-morning

    solar-powered-radio-alarm-clock.jpg
We have seen dozens of solar powered gadgets but here is one that will wake you with the goodness of sun! Blending green function along with avant-garde appearance, Klaus Rosburg’s MIR is actually a solar powered Radio Alarm Clock. Fitted with two rotating solar wings, akin to the ones that we see on space stations, this conceptual alarm is designed to stir you out of your dreams by feeding on sun rays. Guess we will need to place it close a window so that it can soak solar energy to function even when the sun shies away. Since its still a concept, the designer can tweak it such that one solar charge can render days or rather months of solar powered wake-up times!

Hence, it is only natural that people from businesses least expected to sprout out into the open with products very unlike them, it is no big surprise. Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin is coming up with a mobile phone that will run on the same mechanics of a watch – the kinetic energy engine. We don’t know more about this but it seems the launch will be made at Baselworld between March 26 and April 2. Ulysse Nardin has partnered with SCI Innovations and will call the hybrid smart phone Chairman. At least you be sure that it will give the right time if nothing else.
