\nChina today has gridlocked streets like never before, where driving a car in heavy traffic simply means stepping on the gas pedal ever-so-slightly after long intervals of time! Instead, the Chinese are choosing to travel via waterways these days, and BMT Nigel Gee, based in Southampton, UK, will develop an eco-friendly vessel for the Chinese to sail on. Measuring about 85 feet long, 28 feet wide and capable of ferrying about 150 passengers at a time, this catamaran will use a Vanadium Redox Battery (VRB) that will juice up with a bunch of solar panels set up on the roof of the boat. The electric drive is capable of pushing this one up to 10 knots!<\/p>\n
\nThis ferry could get the Chinese to their destinations in a much more eco-friendly way then having a few hundred people drive to work on a daily basis!
