<\/span> The United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton located north of San Diego, California, has just got an added touch of green. Kyocera Solar, Inc. and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest teamed up to set up a 1.4 megawatt (MW) solar electric system at the base camp with 6,300 KD235 modules , all produced locally at Kyocera\u2019s San Diego facility. This one\u2019s one of the largest solar installations in the San Diego County and will help generate about 2,400 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually. That\u2019s enough energy to light up 400 average homes. The installation will help the Marine Corps save $336,000 on a yearly basis.
