Now we all know the uses of paper, mainly to write our thoughts and stuff on. We never really thought of that thin sheet as a prospective battery, until now that is. The team at CENIMAT has been playing around with paper recently and has come up with paper batteries, which isn’t too much for them, taken that they’ve been printing out transistors way back in 2008. And that’s not all. To charge up, these paper batteries use moisture in the air! 40% humidity in the air is just about enough to replenish these batteries when parched! Well, it might just take a good amount of time till these self-sustainable batteries are actually used out in the open and have suitable applications. For now, they sure don’t spout too much power.

A great development indeed, we love the idea, and with more technological breakthroughs, we hope to see this one function for real.
