Unlike the water that flows out of our taps in our homes today, the people of these regions use water stricken with impurities, which leads to diseases and ailments. To address this, innovations to help produce clean drinking water for Africa are sprouting up, one of which are these tea bags that dip into a glass of water and purify it. Developed by researchers from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, this one works as a cheaper way to purify water, using tea bags, lined with contaminate-trapping nanofibers. The bags are also filled with carbon granules that help kill bacteria.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<object width=\"450\" height=\"271\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/0ydPMl7hOtA&#038;color1=0x402061&#038;color2=0x9461ca&#038;hl=en_US&#038;feature=player_embedded&#038;fs=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><\/object><br \/>\nWith packaging material used similar to those used to pack tea, these bags should cost less than a half a US cent and will be available by this year\u2019s end.
