Actually who doesn\u2019t? We can have a control or monitor our energy consumption at home. But have we ever given a thought to the cell towers? It must be powered by something like coal, or some other expensive on-the-grid sources. Helix Wind Corporation is a wind turbine company which aims at cutting down the costs of cell phone tower and also at the same time lower the CO2 impact of cell phone use. All this will take place with wind-powered cell towers. Helix\u2019s vertical turbines look elegant and not too big in size to obstruct anything. They are very quiet in working.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nTelecom companies can invest in them as they can recover their cost in about six months. Trials of Helix\u2019s wind-powered cell towers will begin in the US and Africa by November. Helix hopes to expand to other operators in the area and collaborate on hundreds of tower sites in the next few years.<br \/>\nEricsson is also working on it. This rat race is for the good and hence welcomed.
