Most of us don’t give a thought to what happens to the gaming consoles after we discard them for newer upgraded versions. But a UK-based company Pli Design Ltd. has found a greener life for those units after they finish playing their role of gaming consoles. The company convinced Sony to allow hem to recycle the PlayStations in to the Reee Chair. The polycarbonate abs (PC/ABS) plastic material used in the Sony PlayStation had everything to do with the way the Reee chair was designed. The current formula calls for the Reee chair to use plastic from nine recycled Sony PlayStation 2 consoles. That can be calculated in to a green equation – each chair reduces 2.4 kg of plastic from adding up to a landfill. Pli expects to ship 3,000 chairs in the next year, representing 7.5 tons of recycled plastic.
