The first units will be delivered to local government authorities and energy-related companies during 2009. It will feature a series-type hybrid drivetrain, which combines Mazda\u2019s hydrogen rotary engine with an electric motor. The engine output is converted to electricity which then powers the motor that drives the wheels and boosts the hydrogen fuel range to 200 kilometers and increases the maximum output by approximately 40 percent, to 110 kilowatts.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nOther features of the Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid include interior parts made from Mazda\u2019s plant-derived Biotech materials. It also will have a dual-fuel system which enables the car to run on gasoline if hydrogen is unavailable \u2013 which isn\u2019t great news because people could make that a habit and that would do no good.
