Toyota’s Green Tomato Car for the Queen to save money

Ok, as much as this is going to help the environment it is also really, REALLY funny. The Queen of England is determined to switch from the LPG-fuelled black cab to an environmentally friendly car service, to save money. She has signed up with Toyota’s ‘Green Tomato Cars’ to cut costs, after they found out about the car from Prince Charles’s London office, which switched to its cheaper carbon-efficient Toyota Prius fleet, it was reported. It seems Prince Charles was also one of Toyota’s first customers so this is like something they want to do specially for the royal family, don’t know how much they are paying though, or if they are.

The Green Tomato Cars’ petrol and electric hybrids average about 56 miles to the gallon compared to 36mpg for a black cab, making them the cheaper of the lot for more than 75 per cent of journeys. This was actually a step taken by the queen to save costs because a research said that by 2012 she would go completely broke. Aww. Maybe they should think of invading some country and colonizing them again.
