Asia’s first passenger flight to be powered with sustainable jet fuel was flagged off recently by Thai Airways. The Boeing 777 took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok with VIPs, company representatives, students and teaching staff on board. Powered by fuel supplied by Dutch supplier SkyNRG, the aircraft used fuel using a 50/50 blend of cooking oil. In the near future, the aviation industry is all set to go greener than ever, with Thai Airways joining the ranks of KLM, Finnair, Thomson Airways, Air France and Alaska Airlines, promising greener modes to travel through the skies up ahead.
