The Eco Products 2009 International Exhibition in Tokyo will see Sanyo flaunt its Solar Electric Vehicle. The truck is setup with Sanyo’s Lithium Ion batteries and solar panels. On charging after 16 hours using solar power, or 8 hours using a 100V AC, the vehicle is easily capable of traveling 130kms. The solar panels store energy in the Lithium Ion batteries. The truck is equipped with solar panels having capacities of 1.89kW and is estimated to supply 2000kWh annually and cylindrical lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 25.9kWh and weighing around 250 kg. Besides using this power for itself, this bighearted truck can also supply power externally. This vehicle may disappoint those looking for a super-hot solar car, but its practicality does make up for that!
