Did someone whisper rumors of an electric Rolls Royce Phantom in your ear lately? Well, we bring you good tidings. It isn’t so much of a rumor anymore! The Rolls Royce Motor Cars company has finally announced the unveiling of an electric powered Phantom 102EX at the Geneva Motor Show to take place on the 1st of March, 2011! For now just a test car, this one will help the company gather all the essential information required to make suitable changes to the model before it finally hits assembly lines and ends up in the garages of the rich and wealthy. The car will be the first electric vehicle in the ultra-luxury segment and will be the basis for future alternative-energy powered cars by Rolls Royce. The car will tour Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America as part of the testing program.

Now if you could afford a Rolls Royce Phantom, we’re pretty sure you wouldn’t bother keeping a tab on just how much fuel your car drinks, so long as it’s luxurious. But an added touch of green could just help you save on all that fuel money, which you could probably put to better use, like say charity!
