Piaggio’s Electric Ape Calessino

The Ape Calessino is a beast of a machine that needs 422cc diesel engine to power it up and get it going. Amazingly, the Italian scooter manufacturer has unveiled the all electric version of the Ape Calessino three wheeler! The new Ape is powered by a lithium ion battery pack and an electric motor that reportedly allows for a range of up to 75 kilometers. A full recharge will only take less than four hours. The battery pack is also claimed to stay good for 800 recharge cycles. Well saving the planet does come at a price because this is slated to be priced at around Euros 19,900 which is well over US$ 30,000 and that is excluding the Value Added Tax.
