• Palestine welcomes solar powered car, the TMT developed by students

Palestine is finally seeing a greener horizon, and has rolled out a red carpet for its first solar powered set of four wheels. A bunch of engineering students from the Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron have scratched their brains to inventing this one. Lovingly named the TMT, this vehicle uses solar panels, propped up on a set of wheels that you can efficiently drive around, keeping away the use of air polluting carbon-emitting gasoline. The car’s electric batteries are juiced by the sun itself. Somewhat like a golf cart, this vehicle uses 2 batteries, totaling 24 volts and can power up in 3 to 5 hours.

That’s not all. Just incase the sun decides to play the fool and hide behind a bunch of clouds in Palestine; this car can have its rechargeable battery pulled out, connected to a home socket, and juiced up again! And the sun really doesn’t ditch a lot in the Middle East, with 300 days of bright sunshine a year. Indeed a remarkable idea.
