Charging up your car when you need to will no longer be painstaking, if you live in London that is. The thoughtful Mayor of London, Boris Johnson promised that charging points will be more accessible for Londoners by the year 2015. Its may seem a long way ahead, but the wait is worth. The Mayor plans to install around 25,000 charging points at workplaces around the city, 500 on city streets and 2000 more in car parks in the next few years. This will encourage Londoners to switch to electric cars with reduced CO2 emissions and keep the London air cleaner! This program will also give guidance and incentives to businesses that switch to the use of electric vehicles at a sum of £60m, a cost worth its price if the plan works out. The government has also promised subsidies of up to £5,000 for those who shun ordinary cars and opt for Eco-friendly electric cars instead. London goes green and electric if this plan works out.
