• BioBus uses solar power and wind energy to juice up!

Students at the Holy Cross School were in for a green thrill recently as this environment-loving 1974 San Francisco Transit bus showed up at the school. Called the BioBus, this clean green bus uses solar energy to power up. Sporting a front-mounted wind turbine and using cooking oil from nearby Tulcingo del Valle restaurant for an additional power punch, the bus is a working example of green and eco-friendly travel. While the bus’ staff taught the kids about daphnia, they also helped spread a subtle message in regards to environment-friendly and energy-efficient mass transit possibilities. The BioBus aims to spread its green messages to about 10,000 students a year and provide hands-on education across New York City and the entire country, while keeping the air clean.
