Leonardo DiCaprio tops the list of Greenest Celebrities in the World

Allow me to take a break from the norm of writing about green technology and gadgets to get familiar with a few green celebrities. Since the Earth Day is just behind us, let’s take a look at the results of a poll that was carried out by GreenDaily and Bebo, to mark the same day. Here is a list of Green Hollywood stars who have done their bit for our planet and environment. Leonardo DiCaprio leads the list of ‘Greenest Celebrities in the World’ followed by Oprah Winfrey in the new poll. Even Brad Pitt and actor Ed Begley Jr found themselves among the male category in this green survey to find the most popular eco-friendly stars. Angelina Jolie along with Hayden Panettiere and Gwyneth Paltrow found their names on the list too. Sir Paul MCCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills is has made it to the same list. The survey also rolls out names of non-eco-friendly stars for their earth-harming lifestyle.

Singer Mariah Carey has been listed as the least environmentally friendly star as she regularly flies her personal trainer from the Caribbean to New York to keep her fit. Imagine the amount of carbon footprints she sets to maintain a svelte figure! John Travolta’s name sits besides her name on the hit list, after it was found that the qualified pilot generates 800 tons of carbon emissions each year flying around the world. It’s remarkable to be known as the greenest star but it’s disgraceful to be listed as the least eco-friendly celeb. After all, fans follow the footsteps of their idols and hence stars and celebs should be responsible for……every step they take.
