• Using motion sensors, the Bugplug powers off standby devices

We’ve seen devices that do the environment a favor and saves up on your electricity bills. We’ve heard of devices that switch of your devices on standby automatically to stop the flow and waste of energy. We’ll this little device, known as a Bugplug (though it barely looks like a bug, more of an alien actually) does just that, but in a slightly different way. The fat pair of lips reminds one of Angelina Jolie herself. But that’s the only similarity between her and this device. The Bugplug’s antennas use motion sensors that detect your presence in a room and switches off gadgets when you move out of the room.

Designed and developed by Polish Ah&Oh Studio for the Greener Gadget Competition, the Bugplug’s bellybutton is an adjustable timer that disconnects power supply after a selected number of minutes. This one sure is a handy little device to have around your room.
