DH9 is the new age Humidity Powered water cooler
Priced at $1,595, Dewpointe DH9 is a water generating mechanism that uses the humidity from the air around it, condenses it and purifies it for drinking. The makes are confident that with a temperature of about 15°C to 40°C and 60% humidity the DH9 can make around 22 litres of 99.99% pure water every 24 hours, for $0.60 per gallon. It can also be plugged on to an existing water supply and have it filtered to increase the supply. The Dewpointe has 10 filters, including UV lamps, charcoal filters, electrostatic air filters and a sediment filter that have to be replaced regularly. Also the water generator needs around 500Watts of power supply for making the water. If you want the refrigerated or heated water options, then the power comsumption is even more. This looks like the only glitch with the product, which otherwise claims to be an environment friendly alternative to bottled water. But this definitely supports the concept of water conservation which is the need of the hour!
