Recently we wrote about this cool gym bike that can help you get a high speed internet the more you pedal, hence keeping you more in shape. Dahon known to make folding bikes, made this really interesting gadget for the Eurobike show. Called the BioLogic FreeCharge, it is a little silicone-encased box which hooks up to your bike’s generator hub and siphons off power for charging your gadgets. Which means that, again, as you pedal so shall you charge. It comes with a battery and circuitry to both store electricity and to smooth the inevitable bumps and spikes in the generator’s output.

How this works is plug in the cellphone or iPod to the USB port and you can charge it as you ride around town. If you ride around for three hours, you can charge it completely. It is great for going camping, don’t you think? Or on road trips. You can get it in March 2010 for $100.
