Arnold Schwarzenegger says recession good for low cost, energy savers

Our muscle man Arnold Schwarzenegger is a dude off screen as well. Playing a perfect role as governor of California, US, he recently told a technology show that the recession is something to look at positively since this would encourage more cost-effective and energy saving products from the typical ones. He was speaking at the CeBIT fair in Germany where California was invited as honorary guest.

This time the fair had only 4,300 firms from 69 countries which is down by a quarter from last year. The fair had 8,000 firms in 2001 though when it was boom time in the world. Actor or not, governor or not, the message is apt and essential (not to mention great for the PR) at such trying times and only a star can get the right message to people, even if they are a bunch of science loving geeks.
