White House to run on solar energy

Solar energy is the most untapped renewable energy source which is fast gaining acceptance in the green communities. And finally President Obama joins the long standing history of the white house which promotes the usage of this largely potential source of energy. By spring next year, Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced that the roof of the White House will see installation of solar panels to power the executive mansion.

The White House is all set to look for a company that can carry out the two installations and increase the mansions sustainability towards the environment. One will be used to generate electricity and the other to provide hot water.
