The Gold Coast Suns have taken their name seriously and have decided to better their relationship with the great ball of fire. So what’s an AFL team got to do with the sun? Well, their home stadium will use the energy that the sun so generously shares to power up! The stadium will sprout up on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The stadium will seat 40,000 and upwards and will also probably boast an athletics track too. A solar powered stadium like this one is indeed the best way to power up sporting with some green energy.

Costing around $145 million, the stadium will, besides generating green renewable energy, also provide jobs and help give the economy an upward nudge.
