Nissan hooks on solar panels at Yokohama headquarter to power up EV charging station
Electric cars aren’t completely green. Sure they don’t emit those toxic fumes in the air while operating. Charging these up though, do leave a substantially dark carbon footprint. Japanese automaker Nissan has struck upon a cleaner and greener way to charge up these eco-friendly modes of transport, using solar energy to power up electric cars with a new charging system that uses 488 solar cells installed on the roof of the Nissan headquarters building in Yokohama. This seems to be a working example for those planning to set up EV charging stations. Hooking these stations onto solar panels only makes them greener, reducing strain on the grid.
